Hi everyone, what do you think separates a great manager from an average one? I’d love to hear real workplace experiences.

A great manager inspires, communicates clearly, builds trust, and develops people, while an average manager focuses on tasks, gives limited feedback, and struggles to motivate or support team growth effectively.

A great manager inspires, communicates clearly, supports growth, and builds trust. They focus on people and results together. An average manager mainly assigns tasks and monitors work without strong coaching or vision. The difference lies in leadership, emotional intelligence, and ability to develop a motivated, high-performing team.

A great manager goes beyond basic task supervision by communicating clearly, giving constructive feedback, building trust, and developing their team, while an average manager mainly focuses on deadlines and control great managers act as leaders and mentors, not just bosses, often using tools like Slack effectively but prioritizing people over processes.
