I’d like to know what actions fall under gross misconduct at work. Can it result in immediate termination without notice? It would help to see some real examples for better understanding.

Gross misconduct in the workplace refers to very serious behavior that breaks company rules and can lead to immediate dismissal. Examples include theft, fraud, violence, harassment, serious negligence, or intentionally damaging company property.

Gross misconduct is serious behavior that completely breaks trust between you and your employer, usually leading to immediate dismissal. Common examples include theft, fraud, physical violence, harassment, serious insubordination, or deliberately damaging company property. In most places I’ve worked, it’s basically anything that makes it impossible for the company to keep you on, even without notice.

Gross misconduct in the workplace refers to serious behavior that breaks company rules and destroys trust between employee and employer. Examples include theft, fraud, violence, harassment, serious safety violations, or sharing confidential information. Such actions can lead to immediate dismissal without notice. Policies vary by company and country, so employees should review their organization’s code of conduct to understand what counts as gross misconduct and the consequences.
