Who Pays For Unemployment Benefits?

Who Pays For Unemployment Benefits And How Is The System Funded? I’m Trying To Understand Whether Employers, Employees, Or The Government Contribute To It. Why Do Employers Pay? Additionally, Do Employees Ever Have To Pay Into This System?

Unemployment benefits are mainly funded by employers through payroll taxes (in most countries/states), not directly from employees’ paychecks; for example, in the U.S., companies pay federal and state unemployment taxes that go into a fund used to pay benefits when someone loses a job, though during major crises the government may step in with extra support.

Employers pay into it through payroll taxes, not the employees themselves, those funds go into a state pool and get paid out when someone loses their job, the government can step in with extra support during bigger crises.

Unemployment benefits are mainly paid for by employer taxes.
In some countries, employees and the government may also contribute.
