What Is A 9/80 Work Schedule And How Is It Structured Over Two Weeks? I’ve Seen Some Companies Offer It But I Don’t Fully Understand The Working Hours Setup. Why Do Employers Use It? Additionally, Are There Any Downsides Employees Should Be Aware Of?

It's where you work 80 hours over 9 days instead of 10, so you get every other Friday off, companies love it because total hours stay the same and employees love the long weekends.

"Hey, I've actually used a 9-80 schedule at my previous job and it was super convenient. Essentially, it's a compressed schedule where you work 80 hours in 9 days instead of the standard 10. This gives you an extra day off every 2 weeks, making it great for work-life balance. Just be prepared for longer days, but it's definitely worth it for me!"

A 9/80 work schedule is a flexible arrangement where employees work 80 hours over nine days instead of ten. Typically, they work eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day across two weeks, earning one extra day off every other week. This schedule can improve work-life balance, reduce commuting time, and maintain full-time hours, though it depends on employer policies and job requirements.
