What Does HR Do – What Are Their Main Responsibilities?

I know HR stands for Human Resources but I'm not sure what HR actually does on a daily basis. Is it just hiring and firing or is there more to it? Would love a simple breakdown of their responsibilities.

So, HR does a lot more than just hiring and firing, although that is a big part of their job. On a daily basis, they handle things like employee relations, benefits, and training programs. They're also responsible for making sure the company is following all the relevant employment laws and regulations. Additionally, HR often helps with conflict resolution and performance management, which can include things like conducting investigations and creating improvement plans. They also work on recruiting and retaining top talent, which includes things like creating job descriptions and conducting interviews. It's a pretty varied role, but overall, HR is there to support both the employees and the company as a whole.

HR is much more than hiring and firing. They oversee employee relations, administer benefits and drive training programs. Their main duties are to guarantee legal adherence, workplace disputes, and performance control management. Basically, HR walks the fine line between employee welfare and company interests and well-being, as well as a culture of productivity.
