Contract employment is a situation in which a person is given the job to carry out a particular task, take a certain position, or work for a definite time only after signing a formal contract. Up to that point, they remain totally different from permanent employees who are with the company indefinitely. Contract workers are for example engaged for certain periods such as three months or one year based on the needs of the company. Besides being the only way of engagement, a contract is the main element of employment relations which essentially contains job description, terms of payment, deadlines and working environment. Contract employees can be either hired directly by the company or indirectly through a staffing agency. This employment arrangement gives greater freedom to employers as well as to the professionals particularly when it comes to highly skilled work or short-term projects.
