Our HR team mentioned something called EIB time off when loading bulk leave data. How is this different from entering time off manually? Is EIB time off used specifically for mass uploads in systems like Workday? What format does the data need to be in?

In Workday, EIB time off means time-off entries uploaded in bulk using Enterprise Interface Builder, usually by HR for mass updates or data fixes. In contrast, regular time off is requested individually by employees through Workday and follows standard approval workflows.

EIB (Extended Illness Bank) time off is a specific category of leave that is granted in case of a serious or long-term illness that is usually accompanied by a need to be approved and documented. It is different from the usual time off requests, such as vacation or sick leave, that are usually shorter, less complicated to make, and do not require a lot of verification.
