Can someone explain how to calculate employee turnover rate in a simple way? I want to know the formula and how companies track it over time. It would also help to see a basic example for better understanding.

Employee turnover rate is pretty simple to calculate: take the number of employees who left during a specific period, divide it by the average number of employees in that same period, and multiply by 100. For example, if 10 people left over a year and your average staff count was 100, your turnover rate is 10%. I usually calculate the average by adding the starting and ending headcounts and dividing by 2. It keeps things quick and fairly accurate.

Pretty simple honestly, just take the number of people who left, divide it by the average headcount for that period, and multiply by 100. So if 10 people left out of an average of 100 employees, your turnover rate is 10%.

To find out the rate of employee turnover, you need to first take the number of employees that left during a certain period and divide it by the average number of employees present during that time. Lastly, you multiply the result by 100.

Formula:

Turnover Rate = (Employees Left Average Number of Employees) 100

Here is an example: Say, 10 individuals left and the average staff was of 100, then turnover rate will be (10 100) 100 = 10%. It is a method of measuring employee retention and workforce stability.
