Why is Nepotism considered harmful in the workplace?

Nepotism can affect fairness, employee morale, and workplace culture negatively. I would like to know how organizations can prevent Nepotism and maintain transparency in hiring.

Nepotism is considered harmful in the workplace because it favors relatives or friends over qualified employees. This can lead to unfair hiring or promotions, lower employee morale, and reduced trust in management. When workers feel that opportunities are not based on merit, productivity and teamwork can suffer, and it may create conflicts within the organization.
