What is paid leave and how does it work?

I want to know how paid leave works in companies. Do employees receive full salary during paid leave, and what types of paid leaves are usually offered? Please explain with examples.

It's leave where you still get your full salary while you're away, most companies offer a set number of paid days per year covering things like annual leave, sick leave, and sometimes even casual leave, you just apply through HR and the salary keeps coming.

Paid leave is time off from work where employees still receive their regular salary. Companies offer paid leave for reasons like vacation, sickness, personal needs, maternity/paternity leave, or public holidays. Employees usually earn a certain number of leave days each year and may need manager approval before taking them. Policies vary by company and local labor laws.

"I've dealt with paid leave a lot in my previous role. Essentially, it's a leave of absence that your employer pays you for, usually for reasons like family care, health issues, or even volunteering. The specifics vary depending on your company's policy, but it's usually a win-win for both parties - employees get time off, and the employer doesn't lose them entirely."
