I recently heard about Form 16B related to tax and salary processes. What is this form used for, and how is it different from Form 16? Please explain in simple terms.

Form 16B is a TDS certificate issued by a property buyer to the seller after deducting tax on property transactions under Section 194-IA of the Income Tax Act in India.

A TDS certificate issued by the buyer to the seller for buying property in India is known as Form 16B. It is a confirmation that tax deducted at the source (TDS) has been deducted and deposited with the government as per the provisions of Section 194-IA of the Income Tax Act. It is primarily used during the sale/purchase of real estate having value of more than ₹50 lakh.

Form 16B is a Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) certificate issued by the buyer of a property to the seller. It serves as official proof that the buyer deducted 1% tax from the property sale amount and deposited it with the Income Tax Department under Section 194-IA.
