I recently saw the term desc ext:asp while working on a file search issue. Can anyone explain where desc ext:asp is commonly used and how it works in technical environments?

In tech and search tools, “desc ext:asp” usually refers to a search filter or indexing command. “Desc” often means description, while “ext:asp” points to files with the ASP extension, which stands for Active Server Pages. ASP is a server-side scripting technology developed by Microsoft for creating dynamic web pages and applications. This type of command may appear in advanced search systems, log analysis tools, or database indexing platforms to locate ASP-related files or content descriptions.

In many tech asset systems, it is short for Description, Extension, and Aspect ratio. It is basically just shorthand for categorizing media file layouts!

“desc ext:asp” is not a standard universal term. In tech systems, it often appears as a filter or query pattern where desc means description and ext:asp refers to files or pages with an .asp extension (Active Server Pages). It’s commonly used in search queries, logs, or indexing systems.
